How to Get Sh*t Done Without Exhausting Yourself

My week was creative, productive, but most importantly balanced and healthy (which is NOT always the case). And it felt goooooood. Like a cool dip on a hot day good.

In honor of that, here’s a few tips, tactics and reminders to create space in your mind and your schedule when you’re busy doing all the things.

Boundaries, people!

This is my theme for 2020 and it includes: not being on and available at all times, having a work cut-off time, being selective about letting the world into your head, value-based pricing, and saying “No.” (Yes, that’s a complete sentence)

Block your time

This has been a game-changer. Every Sunday, I block out time on my calendar for all of my projects and goals for the week (including flex or creative time). But I’m going to take it even further with specific focuses for each weekday. For more info, here’s a great guide on time-blocking.

Outsource + automate

Okay… so I’m still working on this one. But it really is in progress, I swear! You want to focus on the areas in your business where you add the most value… and the areas that actually energize you. If certain tasks leave you depleted, delegate. If you’re doing the same steps over and over again, automate. Both will help your business grow.

Relax…for real

If I told you that relaxing was the key to productivity, would you believe me? Well, it’s true! White space or time spent in the moment, zoned out or truly relaxed, is the time when our brains are working behind the scenes to make connections. That’s why we get great ideas in the shower! For me, long walks, yoga and cooking do the trick. So take a load off and “work smarter, not harder.”
